Giriş

Vollenhovia beyrichi is an extinct ant species known only from Baltic Amber deposits dating to the Eocene epoch, approximately 40-50 million years ago . This fossil species was originally described as *Macromischa beyrichi* by Mayr in 1868,with later combination into the genus *Vollenhovia* by Wheeler in 1915 . As a member of the subfamily Myrmicinae and tribe Crematogastrini, it would have been a small ant, though detailed size information is not available from the fossils .
