Giriş
Platythyrea procera is an extinct ant species known only from a single worker preserved in Miocene-era Dominican amber, dating back approximately 15-20 million years . The worker measures 5.9 mm in total length, with an elongate, slender appearance and edentate mandibles . The species belongs to the subfamily Ponerinae and tribe Platythyreini, and the fossil comes from a time when the Dominican Republic had tropical forests . A distinctive feature is the narrow lamella bordering the propodeal declivity, which is not found in other American Platythyrea species .
