Giriş

Platythyrea dentata is an extinct ant species known only from a single fossil queen preserved in Miocene-era Dominican amber . The fossil queen measures 5.5 mm in total length . This species is distinguished from related extant Central American species by its smaller size and specific morphological features . This species cannot be kept in captivity as it is extinct, preserved only in amber fossils dating back to the Miocene epoch. There are no living colonies of Platythyrea dentata in existence.
