Введение

Monomorium pilipes is an extinct ant species known only from Baltic Amber deposits of the Eocene epoch . The worker caste was described by Mayr in 1868 based on an amber‐entombed specimen . Because only fossils exist, nothing is known about its size, coloration, or behavior beyond what can be inferred from the preserved morphology. It is one of three described extinct Monomorium species from late Eocene European ambers . No queen or male fossils have been identified, and the species is considered part of the ancient myrmicine fauna that inhabited the region during the Eocene.
