Введение
Liometopum greenwalti is an extinct ant species known only from fossil specimens preserved in the early Oligocene Canyon Ferry Reservoir deposit in what is now Montana, United States. This species was formally described in 2023 by John S. LaPolla and named in honor of Dale Greenwalt, who contributed to the study of these fossils. As a fossil species, no living specimens exist, and this ant cannot be kept in captivity. The species represents an important piece of understanding about ant diversity and evolution during the Oligocene period, approximately 33-23 million years ago.
