Введение

Dolichoderus robustus is an extinct ant species that lived during the Late Eocene period, approximately 33-38 million years ago. Workers measured 5-6mm in body length and possessed distinctive large isolated pits sculpturing on the head, mesosoma, and petiole . This species is known only from fossilized amber deposits found in Baltic, Rovno, and Scandinavian regions of Europe . As a fossil species preserved in amber, Dolichoderus robustus represents an ancient member of the Dolichoderinae subfamily that went extinct millions of years ago.
