Introdução

Odontomachus spinifer is an extinct trap-jaw ant species known only from a single worker specimen preserved in Dominican amber, dating to the Miocene epoch approximately 17 million years ago . It belongs to the Neotropical haematodus species group . This fossil species provides a glimpse into ancient ant evolution, but no living colonies exist for antkeeping.
