Introdução
Myrmica andryushchenkoi is an extinct ant species preserved in late Eocene Baltic amber, dated to approximately 37.8-33.9 million years ago . Workers measure 4.55mm in total length and exhibit distinctive features including strongly swollen femora, short propodeal denticles, and 12-segmented antennae with a three-segmented club . The species was discovered in the Yantarny deposit on the Sambia Peninsula in the Kaliningrad region of Russia . This is the fourth spineless Myrmica species known to science and represents a unique glimpse into ant diversity during the Eocene period . This is a fossil species that went extinct approximately 34 million years ago. It cannot be kept in captivity. No living specimens exist, and there is no care information available.
