Introdução

Eoformica globularis is an extinct ant species from the Middle Eocene epoch, approximately 50 million years ago. Only male specimens have been described from the Green River Formation in North America, one of the world's most famous fossil sites. Males measured about 5.6mm in total body length. The species name 'globularis' refers to its distinctive rounded alitrunk (the middle body section). As a fossil species, Eoformica globularis no longer exists and cannot be kept in captivity.
