Introdução

Camponotites xiejiaheensis is an extinct ant species known only from fossil specimens. Originally described from Miocene deposits in Shandong, China, it was initially classified as Rabidia xiejiaheensis before being moved to Oecophylla (weaver ants) and ultimately to its current genus placement . The species is an ancient member of the Formicinae subfamily, related to modern weaver ants (Oecophylla), though it has been extinct for millions of years. Only the male caste has been formally described in the scientific literature .
