紹介

Cryptopone succinea is an extinct ant species known only from Eocene amber fossils, approximately 44-49 million years old. The species has been identified in Baltic, Bitterfeld, Rovno, and Jutland ambers from Central and Eastern Europe, making it one of the more widespread Ponerine ants in the Eocene fossil record . Queens measured 4-6mm in body length. The species was classified in the subfamily Ponerinae and is considered a tropical species that lived in terrestrial environments during the Eocene period . This species is EXTINCT and has not existed for approximately 44-49 million years. No living colony of Cryptopone succinea exists or can be kept. If you are interested in keeping similar ants, consider related living Cryptopone species or other Ponerine ants that share similar morphology and likely similar care requirements.
