Introduzione
Emplastus ocellus is an extinct ant species known only from Miocene-era fossils found in Radoboj, Croatia. This species lived approximately 11-16 million years ago during the Miocene period. The species was originally described as Formica ocella by Oswald Heer in 1849 and later reclassified into the genus Emplastus by Dlussky and Putyatina in 2014 . As a fossil species, Emplastus ocellus no longer exists and cannot be kept in captivity. There are no living specimens or colonies of this species. This caresheet is provided for informational purposes only, as the species has significant historical value in understanding Miocene-era ant faunas and the evolution of the Dolichoderinae subfamily.
