Pendahuluan
Dolichoderus cornutus is an extinct ant species known only from Baltic amber deposits dating to the Late Eocene epoch. Workers measured 8.5-10mm in body length and are distinctive for having a pair of long, curved spines directed upward on the propodeum (the rear portion of the mesosoma). This species belongs to the Dolichoderinae subfamily and is the type species of the D. cornutus group. Fossil evidence indicates these ants were present across multiple amber deposits in Central and Eastern Europe, including the Gulf of Gdańsk, Bitterfeld, and Rovno regions. As an extinct species preserved in amber, no living specimens exist, and no biological or behavioral data from living colonies is available.
