Bevezetés

Proceratium denticulatum is an extinct ant species known only from a single fossil queen preserved in Dominican amber, dating to the Miocene epoch approximately 20-23 million years ago . The queen measures 4.27 mm in total length and belongs to the avium group within the stictum clade of Proceratium, representing the basalmost member of this group . This species is characterized by dark brown coloration, a strongly convex first gastral tergite with reticulate-punctate sculpture, and distinctive denticulation on the clypeus and petiole .
