Bevezetés

Lasius vulgaris is an extinct ant species known only from fossil wing impressions found in the Lower Oligocene Kizi Formation in Primorsky Krai, Russia (near Velikaya Kema Village). These fossils are approximately 30 million years old. The species was formally described in 2022 by K.S. Perfilieva based on three wing imprint specimens - one likely female (holotype) and two likely males. Female forewing length was approximately 9-9.5mm, while males were smaller at 5-5.4mm . As a fossil species, no living specimens exist, and no biological or behavioral information is available. This species cannot be kept in captivity.
