Bevezetés

Camponotus parvus is an extinct ant species known only from a single wing fossil imprint discovered in the Lower Oligocene deposits of the Kizi Formation in Primorsky Krai, Russia (near Velikaya Kema Village). The species was formally described in 2022 by K.S. Perfilieva based on a male wing imprint. The species name 'parvus' means 'small' in Latin, referring to its diminutive size compared to other fossil Camponotus species. This species existed approximately 30+ million years ago during the Oligocene epoch and has no living representatives. As a fossil species, it cannot be kept in captivity .
