Introduction

Myrmica andryushchenkoi is an extinct ant species preserved in late Eocene Baltic amber, dated to approximately 37.8-33.9 million years ago . Workers measure 4.55mm in total length and exhibit distinctive features including strongly swollen femora, short propodeal denticles, and 12-segmented antennae with a three-segmented club . The species was discovered in the Yantarny deposit on the Sambia Peninsula in the Kaliningrad region of Russia . This is the fourth spineless Myrmica species known to science and represents a unique glimpse into ant diversity during the Eocene period . This is a fossil species that went extinct approximately 34 million years ago. It cannot be kept in captivity. No living specimens exist, and there is no care information available. This caresheet exists only to document what is known from the fossil record.
