Introducción

Emplastus kozlovi is an extinct ant species known only from fossil remains dating to the Late Eocene/Oligocene boundary, approximately 33-34 million years ago. The fossils were discovered in the Insect Limestone deposits on the Isle of Wight, United Kingdom . This species belongs to the subfamily Dolichoderinae and is known from wing impressions preserved in limestone. Only five specimens have been identified to species level from these deposits . As a fossil species, no living specimens exist and it cannot be maintained in captivity.
