Introduction
Monomorium kugleri is an extinct ant species known from a single worker preserved in late Eocene Rovno Amber from Ukraine, dated to approximately 44 million years ago. The worker measures about 2.4 mm in total length and has a distinctive 12-segmented antenna with a 3-segmented club. The body is ochreous-red in color, and the species was described in 2009,named in honor of Professor Jehoshua Kugler. This fossil represents part of an ancient ant assemblage that included at least three Monomorium species in the Rovno Amber deposits .
