Introduction

Eoformica latimedia is an extinct ant species from the Middle Eocene epoch, approximately 45 million years ago. It is known only from three male compression fossils found in the Kishenehn Formation, Montana, USA . The species is characterized by a distinctive wide petiole, which sets it apart from other Eoformica fossils . Since this species is extinct, it cannot be kept in captivity.
