Introduction

Dolichoderus brevicornis is an extinct ant species known only from Baltic amber deposits dating to the Late Eocene epoch, approximately 44 million years ago . Workers of this species are characterized by having numerous short standing hairs on all parts of their body . As a fossil species preserved in amber, no living specimens exist, and it cannot be kept in captivity.
