Einleitung

Lasius longipennis is an extinct ant species from the Miocene period, known only from fossil specimens found in Radoboj, Croatia . This fossil ant lived approximately 11-16 million years ago during the Early Miocene epoch. The species was originally described as Formica longipennis by Oswald Heer in 1849 before being transferred to the genus Lasius by Mayr in 1867 .
