Einleitung
Formica tripartita is an extinct ant species known only from fossil specimens preserved in Oligocene amber from France. The species was described in 1937 by Théobald based on queen and male specimens found in the Upper Rhine Graben of Kleinkems . As a fossil species from the Oligocene period (approximately 33-23 million years ago), no living colonies exist, and the species is known only through paleontological specimens.
