Einleitung
Formica biamoensis is an extinct ant species known only from fossil remains found in Late Eocene deposits of Bol'shaya Svetlovodnaya in the Russian Far East . Workers had a body length of about 7.5 mm, with an oval head, small backward-displaced eyes, a slender mesosoma, and a thick petiolar scale . This species is related to other extinct Formica fossils like F. flori and F. gustawi from Baltic amber . As a fossil species from approximately 34-50 million years ago, it cannot be kept in captivity.
