AntScout Knowledge Dataset License
Version 1.0

By downloading or using the AntScout Knowledge Dataset ("Dataset"), you agree to the following terms.

1. Grant of License

Subject to your compliance with these terms, AntScout grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Dataset for your personal research, internal projects, and as a retrieval source for LLM grounding and tool calls.

2. Permitted Use

You may:
  - Use the Dataset for research, educational, and internal commercial purposes
  - Use the Dataset as a retrieval source in RAG pipelines, LLM tool calls, and scripts
  - Create derivative works (e.g., filtered subsets, embeddings) for your own internal use
  - Reference and cite facts extracted from the Dataset in your own publications, provided you attribute the original papers and AntScout

3. Restrictions

You may not:
  - Redistribute, republish, or share the Dataset or any substantial portion of it in any form, including but not limited to: public mirrors, torrent downloads, GitHub repositories, API endpoints, or any publicly accessible storage
  - Sublicense, sell, lease, or rent access to the Dataset
  - Remove or obscure any attribution metadata (paper titles, authors, source references) contained in the Dataset
  - Use the Dataset to create a competing database or service that is made publicly available

4. Attribution

When citing facts from the Dataset in published work, you must:
  - Attribute the original source paper (title, authors, year) as included in the Dataset
  - Credit AntScout as the compilation source with a link to https://antscout.com/blogs/ant-species-knowledge-dataset/

5. Source Material

The Dataset contains factual claims extracted from scientific papers indexed in the FORMIS2024 bibliography database and AntCat. Original papers retain their respective copyrights held by the original authors and publishers. This license applies only to the AntScout Knowledge Dataset compilation, not to the original source papers.

6. No Warranty

The Dataset is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. While every effort has been made to accurately extract information from the source papers, the Dataset may contain errors introduced during the automated parsing process. Users should verify critical information against the original sources.

7. Termination

AntScout may terminate this license if you breach any of these terms. Upon termination, you must delete all copies of the Dataset in your possession.

8. Amendments

AntScout reserves the right to update these terms. Continued use of the Dataset after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
